We are running a trial for medium-sized electricity connections (over 69 kVA) in the Upper Clutha/Wānaka and Queenstown areas.
If your site meets the criteria, you may be able to reduce your annual peak demand charges.
During certain high-demand periods (called control periods), you can get credit for 50% of the electricity you export back to the grid.
This trial started on 1 April 2024 and will continue until 31 March 2026.
Eligibility
To be eligible, your site must:
- Be located in Upper Clutha, Wānaka, or Queenstown
- Have at least 69 kVA of connected capacity
- Use half-hourly metering
- Be able to export electricity during control periods
