Staying at least four metres away from overhead power lines and underground cables is one of the easiest ways to reduce the risk of harm when you're working near our electricity network. That’s why we want you to remember that ‘Safe is a 4 metre word’.

If you need to work closer than four metres from our assets, you must apply for a close approach consent.

We've developed free resources that you can share with your workmates to help keep them safe when working near the electricity network and keep the job on track. Click through to each campaign to download individual resources or download the full kit below.

Before you break ground, have you checked what’s around? Underground electricity cables could be right where you’re about to dig. That’s why planning is key to keep you, your crew, and our network safe.
