We love supporting local artists and community groups to turn our electricity assets into works of art.
Our Street Art Programme helps bring colour and interest to the places we live and work by turning everyday electricity infrastructure into public artworks. By working with local artists and community groups, we can support creative projects that reflect local stories and enhance streets and public spaces.
These artworks do more than improve how an area looks. They can also help reduce tagging and vandalism, making spaces feel more cared for and welcoming for the wider community.
We’ve been proud to support a number of street art projects across our network. You can see some examples of this work in the photos below.
Are you an artist?
Get in touch if you’d like your artwork or that of an artist or community group added to one of our transformers - we’d love to collaborate. A few key things to note:
- Aurora Energy will cover the cost of the anti-graffiti guard, which we’ll arrange and manage with a local provider
- We’ll also provide in kind support where needed. This may include traffic management, contractor preparation work, on site health and safety briefings, and ongoing maintenance
- All other project costs will need to be covered by the applicant, including artist fees, paint, brushes, and materials
Graffiti? It's a no from us
Some people think graffiti is art, but we don't. If you see tagging on our power boxes or substations, we would be grateful if you could please report it.
