Road closure along Riccarton Road West

26 June 2024
Work to upgrade the electricity network means temporary road closures are needed over a one-week period between Tuesday 2 and Tuesday 9 July, along Riccarton Road West.

Road closures will be in effect from 8:00am to 5:00pm on the work dates, and during these times vehicle access will not be available through the work zone unless in an emergency situation.

Aurora Energy is replacing five power poles, 31 cross arms, and 1.7 km of power lines during the week of 2-9 July.

On Tuesday 2 July, there will be a road closure on Riccarton Road West, between Dukes Road South and 392 Riccarton Road West.

On Thursday 4 July, there will be a road closure on Riccarton Road West, between 392 Riccarton Road West and Outram-Mosgiel Road (State Highway 87). On this date, there will also be a stop/go set up at the intersection of State Highway 87, Riccarton Road West and School Road South.

On Tuesday 9 July, there will be a road closure on Riccarton Road West, between Dukes Road South and Outram-Mosgiel Road (State Highway 87).

Aurora Energy ask that everyone please factor in additional travel time, and plan their days accordingly. This high level of traffic management is required to keep the public and contractors safe, and a stop/go set up (or allowing periodic movements in and out) is not possible on all work dates, as this would extend the project timeframe and increase customer impact.

Affected residents will receive further details from Traffic Management Control (TMC), including re-confirmation of dates and times, ahead of the project starting. Please obey all traffic management signs and instructions.

Aurora Energy thanks customers for their patience while this important work is being carried out.
